Bill at Hyde Park Pub

The Bills from Hello! My Name is Bill have been working hard on building their repertoire. Our first full show is coming up towards the end of this month, August 22nd to be exact. We hope you will be able to join us to enjoy some great food and drinks and original tunes written and arranged by Bill, Bill and Bill.

Here is another shot of me at music camp taken by Jill Fitterer. In the background are my music camp buddies (Julia, Carol, Violet, Linda, and Cindi).

Marimba at Music Camp

I had the best time at the Women’s Voice, Women’s Vision Music Camp last month. I got to experience many things I had never experienced before, including playing the marimba!

Dallas to Amarillo (not armadillo) to Denver to Boise

After getting up at 3:30 in the morning (Dallas time) so I could pack my luggage, take the shuttle to the airport and get on my 6:15 flight out of Dallas Love Field, my carefully packed checked bag did not arrive in Boise with me. When I called the airline 12 hours after I had arrived in Boise, they still had no idea where my bag was! Ugh. The next morning I was happy to receive this message:

A message from SWA

Among other things in my bag was a note saying it was searched, my MacBook, AND my beloved mandolin! All is well.

The Race to Robie Creek

Jill and I made it up and over Aldape Summit at the 36th Annual Race to Robie Creek! Thanks to everyone who sang “Eye of the Tiger” for me, I really needed it. Speaking of races, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is this Saturday! Cheatgrass & Chickadee will be on the course playing music and cheering on the participants at the Spring Hill Suites stage. I’m excited to be part of this event, hope to see you there!

Kameron Lowe Memorial Battle of the Bands

Hello, My Name is Bill had a great time at their first Battle of the Bands! We are working on building our repertoire and hope to get a full show on our calendar soon.

Hello, My Name is Bill

The Kougars had a great set with sit-in drummer Tony Fuller from Simple Ruckus. I will miss playing with The Kougars! Kori did such a wonderful job putting together and hosting the first Annual Kameron Lowe Memorial Battle of the Bands. I didn’t get to meet Kameron, but judging from the event turnout and all the effort Kori put into making this event happen, he is missed and loved.

March 13, 2013

Thanks to everybody who popped in for the Lillie Mae Cane show at Bricolage on First Thursday. She drew quite the crowd! Lillie Mae Cane introduced Boise to her new cohort, JB. Cupcakes were consumed, stories were told, art was purchased and fun was had. Lillie Mae was even gracious enough to provide encores for both the 8 and 9 o’clock shows.

Also, happy 3rd birthday to Bricolage! If you haven’t been there, go check it out. They are on 6th between Myrtle and Broad. Lillie Mae Cane’s show will be up for the remainder of March.
